SEASON'S GREETING - Baume & Mercier- ASK FOR THE MOON

THIS HOLIDAY SEASON, ASK FOR THE MOON

Baume & Mercier has designed a variety of timepieces to brighten your holidays. Among these, the Brand highlights two models carefully created in its workshops in Les Brenets, in the Swiss Jura. Each of their dials features one of watch aficionados’ favorite heavenly bodies, the moon.

Clifton Baumatic 10548:  the birth of a new complication

For the holidays this year, Baume & Mercier presents the Clifton Baumatic 10548 on a blue alligator strap. Within its 42mm satin-finished stainless steel case, the in-house Baumatic BM14 caliber takes on new features to reveal a new complication: the day-date and moon phase. This mechanical self-winding movement offers an incredible five-day power reserve. Integrating the design and watchmaking expertise of Baume & Mercier, the latest addition to the Clifton collection highlights as a new must-have for watch aficionado. In addition to functional considerations, the Clifton Baumatic day-date and moonphase represents a design in pursuit of balance in its proportions and harmony in materials and colors. Its gradated gray lacquer dial reveals the phase of the moon against a starry sky, magnified through a smoky gray sapphire crystal. It is enhanced by riveted trapezoid-shaped indexes and elegant rhodium-plated alpha-shaped hands. A domed sapphire crystal with an anti-glare coating on both sides offers excellent readability. As a touch of added sophistication, the piece is mounted on a blue alligator strap with tone-on-tone overstitching on the outside, bordeaux stitching on the inside, and bar tacks at the triple folding buckle. An interchangeability system makes it possible to change the strap easily with no tools required.

Classima 10329: the feminine interpretation of the moon

Resolutely feminine, this round 31 mm polished steel watch is adorned with a silver-colored dial with a sun satin finish and a date aperture nestled at 6 o’clock. The eye is captured by the moon phase display at 12 o’clock, depicted by a silver-colored moon and stars. The Brand also brings a great deal of attention to subtle details. The 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock hours are marked by silver-colored Roman numerals. The remaining eight hours are indicated by diamond-set riveted (0.03 carat total) indexes which bring sparkle to the watch face. Baume & Mercier, a brand known for creating beautiful ladies’ watches, has chosen to adorn the Classima moonphase with an interchangeable strap in shiny blue alligator. Driven by a quartz movement, this piece combines the authenticity of the Brand’s watchmaking expertise with a timeless design.
